Who We Are
interAlcaldes is an editorial magazine and analysis platform focused on the municipalities, cities and territories that are shaping Mexico’s future and its relationship with the world.
We were born from a clear conviction: major national decisions are not made only in congresses, cabinets or capital cities. They are also made in municipalities, productive regions, border cities, migrant communities, industrial corridors and territories where public policy becomes—or fails to become—concrete results.
interAlcaldes observes Mexico from the local level, but with a global vision.

Our Mission
Our mission is to generate editorial content, strategic analysis and public conversation about the issues that directly impact local governments, regional economies and Mexican communities both inside and outside the country.
We seek to explain how municipalities can become engines of development, investment, innovation, binational cooperation and social well-being.
At interAlcaldes, we believe that a well-governed municipality does more than administer services: it builds the future, attracts opportunities, strengthens identity and connects its population with new paths for growth.

Who We Address
interAlcaldes is designed for an audience that makes decisions, influences territories and takes part in Mexico’s public, economic and social transformation.
Our content is created for:
-
Municipal presidents, mayors, council members and public officials.
-
State and federal governments.
-
Business leaders, investors and business chambers.
-
Universities, researchers and specialists.
-
Civil society organizations.
-
Migrant leaders and Mexican communities abroad.
-
Binational stakeholders interested in the Mexico–United States relationship.
-
Citizens seeking to understand the future of their cities and municipalities.
We do not write only to inform. We write to connect ideas, open conversations and build judgment.
Our Editorial Line
The editorial line of interAlcaldes is based on a central idea: Mexico needs to take its municipalities more seriously if it wants to compete, govern better and build sustainable development.
Our content addresses issues such as local governance, territorial economy, investment, infrastructure, migration, the Mexican diaspora, municipal diplomacy, security, education, water, technology, mobility, social development and demographic future.
We work under five major editorial pillars:
Territorial Economy
Content on investment, infrastructure, employment, trade, industry, energy, water and productive chains from a territorial perspective.
Local Governance
Analysis on mayors, municipalities, public policy, security, urban management and local decision-making.
Global Mexico
Analysis of Mexico’s role in the world, its relationship with the United States, its trading partners and its binational communities.
Social Future
Topics on demographics, education, youth, health, housing, mobility, inclusion and quality of life.
State 33
A look at the Mexican diaspora as an economic, political, cultural and social force beyond national territory.
Each article seeks to combine data, context, editorial interpretation and one central question: what does this mean for municipalities and for Mexico’s future?

Binational Scope
interAlcaldes has a binational vocation.
Mexico does not end at its borders. Millions of Mexicans live, work, start businesses, invest and participate in communities across the United States and other countries. That reality transforms the economy, culture, politics and national identity.
That is why our coverage connects Mexican municipalities with U.S. cities, migrant communities, business chambers, universities, local governments and stakeholders who are part of a shared agenda.
We are interested in analyzing how the Mexico–United States relationship is experienced from the ground up: in mirror cities, border crossings, remittances, productive investment, labor mobility, culture and new forms of citizen diplomacy.
Who Leads the Project

Salvador Ordóñez Toledo
Editorial Director
interAlcaldes is led by Salvador Ordóñez Toledo, an editorial designer, magazine editor and content strategist with experience in editorial projects, visual communication, web design, brand development and content production for digital platforms.
His vision integrates editorial design, political analysis, strategic storytelling and public communication to build a magazine that does more than publish information: it helps organize relevant conversations for mayors, business leaders, public officials, universities and Mexican communities in Mexico and abroad.
Under this direction, interAlcaldes seeks to establish itself as an editorial platform capable of connecting ideas, territories and leadership.
What We Want to Build
interAlcaldes does not aim to be only a news magazine. We want to become a reference platform for understanding how municipalities can participate in Mexico’s major conversations: economic development, investment, security, migration, infrastructure, education, water, technology and social future.
We believe municipalities are not the last level of public power. They are the first point of contact between government and real life.
That is where the quality of public policy is measured.
That is where the lack of infrastructure is felt.
That is where it is decided whether an investment lands or is lost.
That is where trust is built.
That is where the future begins.
interAlcaldes exists to look at that territory with depth, judgment and global vision.
Because Mexico’s future is not written only from the center. It is also built municipality by municipality.
